"El Cultural" is a highly relevant weekly supplement in the cultural field in Spain, which accompanies the newspaper El Mundo. It is dedicated to covering a wide range of artistic and cultural disciplines, including literature, art, music, theatre, cinema and philosophy. Its focus combines analysis, interviews, critiques and reviews on cultural events, publishing launches, exhibitions and current trends.
For the cover illustration I tried to capture the essence of Carmen Martín Gaite. With soft strokes and colours that convey nostalgia and sophistication, I focused on the figure of the author. The portrait combines detail and simplicity, attracting the eye in an elegant and vibrant way.
