“Realismo Mágico” is a fictional project in which I illustrated the packaging of a tea based on the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
I used a vibrant color palette on a dark background to create contrast, as Frida did in her works. It is a vertical composition that integrates a portrait of Kahlo at the top and typical Mexican vegetation on the sides. At the bottom you can see "La Casa Azul", the home where the artist lived and painted all her life.
There are referential elements such as golden tears, the sun and moon, monkeys or the anatomical heart; which Frida used in her works.
The name of the tea “Realismo Mágico” refers to the pictorial style that the artist had.
