ABOUT:

"Sàpiens" is a Catalan magazine about historical dissemination.

This illustration was made for the "Lost Jobs" section, in which each month the magazine talks about a job that no longer exists. The title of the article was "The Pin Boys: ball goes!" written by Anna-Priscila Magriñà.

Throughout the 50s, when there was not yet enough technology for certain mechanisms, these guys dedicated themselves to relocating pins in bowling alleys.

When a smarter than usual customer wanted to win the game, he could discreetly bribe the "Pin boy" by placing a bill inside the ball.

In this illustration, a pin boy can be seen relocating pins. He wears the typical clothes of that time as well as the hairstyle. Behind him, a massive ball is waiting with a good tip.
